  1. Cumulus XT Adapter
  2.  
  3. This is an XTension for Quark XPress 3.0 or later.
  4. This adapter is used to import an image file into an XPress document using a Cumulus database.
  5.  
  6. Installation
  7. 1. Copy the file "Cumulus XT Adapter" to the folder that contains your Quark XPress application is in.
  8. 2. Start Quark XPress.
  9. 3. If the adapter is installed correctly you will see a menu item called "Cumulus…" in the "Utilities" menu.

  11. Using the adapter
  12. 1. Select a frame of an XPress document.
  13. 2. Select "Cumulus…" from the "Utilities" menu.
  14. 3. The adapter first looks for a running version of Cumulus or Cumulus•Client. If none of them is running it searches all mounted volumnes for Cumulus or Cumulus•Client and lauches the first found.
  15. 4. Cumulus or Cumulus•Client is brought to front and shows the following window:

  24. 5. Open a database, select a record and click the OK button.
  25. 6. The corresponding image file will be imported into the selected frame in the XPress document.

  28. This adapter supports the OPI-concept from Helios: Before importing the chosen image file the adapter looks for an image file in the same folder with the extension ".lay". If such a file exists this layout file is imported instead of the original file.
